Authored editorial trend forecast for the MR PORTER Journal entering 2022, publishing a credible menswear trend piece for the start of the year. Through trend forecasting, writing the editorial, and sourcing the visual research, the piece was published as an original read of the menswear landscape based on the runway, street, and emerging cultural signals.
Concepted and authored seven menswear trends with a deliberate cultural-signal mix: surfacing the rubber mule as the next phase of the ugly-shoe moment (Bottega Veneta Puddle, Balenciaga Crocs), the return of varsity jackets through the Aimé Leon Dore and Rhude Ivy League revival, custom denim through BODE's New York embroidery practice and KAPITAL's Japanese patchwork tradition, the continued blurring of gender-coded fabrics, Pantone's Very Peri, and the Gorpcore-influenced quilted slipper. Each trend was anchored against specific brand and cultural reference points; not generic forecasting, but a piece that read the runway, street, and TikTok as parallel signals shaping menswear at the same time, which performed strongly on social channel (Instagram).
