Strategy & Editorial

Cultural work across writing and production, bound by an editorial position that centers representation from inside the culture itself. Authored features for Trippin and MR PORTER. Production rooted in subcultures — Black British literary culture, Saudi Arabian poetry, London's queer community, London's roller skating scene — each strategized and produced from within.

6 Photographers on What Ethical Photography Means to Them
2022
The Task

Concept and researched a long-form feature for Trippin on ethical photography practice. Authored a piece that interrogated the power dynamics of photography across cultures focusing on the documentation of unfamiliar places by visiting photographers, to surface the conversation through voices working at the front of the conversation.

The Outcome

Curated six photographers across four continents (Alexandra Leese in Hong Kong, Natela Grigalashvili in Georgia, Alex de Mora in Mongolia, Kemka Ajoku in Nigeria, Bettina Pittaluga in France/Uruguay, and Carl van der Linde in South Africa/Zanzibar), each working in their own cultural context. Built the editorial structure to let each photographer speak directly to their own ethical practice, paired with visual research imagery from their published projects. The piece functioned as both reference and statement of position: ethical photography as a discipline rooted in relationship, consent, and time spent.
